The Multigate Production & Office Facility is a state-of-the-art, five-story mechanised manufacturing and office space for Australian medical consumable giant, Multigate. The project has been recognised for its innovative design and has been shortlisted for the World Architecture Festival (Future Project – Office). Designed by AJC Architects and built by Orwell Construction, the facility reimagines the traditional business park with a cutting-edge design that maximises adaptability and aids ecological restoration.
RBA was engaged to design, supply and deliver 76x 600mmW x 1100mmH Elouera Behind the Mirror Systems. These cabinets were surface-mounted and were supplied with integrated fixtures including an efficient high-speed dryer, foam soap dispenser, vandal resistant stainless steel baseplate and LED backlit icons. Additionally, each unit was lockable to ensure complete vandal resistance.
Project Challenges & Solutions
- Tight Delivery Schedule: The project required large quantities of cabinets to be designed, built and delivered under strict deadlines. RBA successfully delivered all units ahead of schedule and to a high quality without any major incidents.
- Safe Delivery: To minimise the likelihood of shipping issues holding up delivery and installation, RBA hand delivered each mirror on a custom-designed racking system. This ensured they were delivered safety and without the potential damage that could occur en-route.
- Custom Design Specifications: After discussing with our friends at Harvey Norman Commercial, AJC approached RBA with their existing washroom plans. RBA’s in-house designers then worked hard to adapt the design to the Elouera system, collaborating closely with the architectural team to deliver a premium handwashing experience for users.
- Structural Considerations: In addition to the collaboration on the design of the cabinet, RBA worked closely with the architect and contractor to ensure the cabinets would be sufficiently supported behind the wall and would be a great match with the surrounding lighting and plumbing fixtures.
